NAIA-Ready Pathway Program
The purpose of the NAIA-Ready Pathway Program is to prepare your athletics department for NAIA membership. The Pathway includes an in-person visit to your campus by Nick Davidson, NAIA vice president of membership recruitment and retention. Nick will evaluate your athletics department and provide specific, actionable feedback regarding what your institution needs to do to become an NAIA member.
However, the Pathway Program is more than just an on-campus visit. Your institution will receive ongoing support and feedback until you are ready to apply for membership, which should typically be within one to two years. (There is the potential to complete the process and apply for membership within six months if the recommended changes are not extensive or time-consuming.)
The NAIA-Ready Pathway costs $3,000. (All expenses included.)
While on campus, Nick should meet with the following people:
Pre-visit Requirements
Pre-visit requirements include uploading the following information FTP Dropbox: (Password: NAIAFTP)
- Outline of an athletics strategic plan.
- Current sport-by-sport athletics scholarships and the process by which you award athletic aid.
- Current institutional enrollment numbers and enrollment growth plan
- Current athletic fundraising processes.
- Current eligibility certification process.
- Current accreditation status, who you are accredited with, what year is reaffirmation, are you in probation status.
- History of your athletic programs, years started and stopped, if applicable.
- Institution’s financials, previous two years.
Other items to be completed:
- Connect with the conference commissioner that you wish to join. Nick will make this introduction.
- Identify a Faculty Athletics Representative.
- Meet with Alan Grosbach, NAIA’s Director of Return on Athletics®, to obtain comparison data. Nick will make this introduction.
